Sithorn, 42, is widowed and resides with one child in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, an area which is well known for its historical tourism sites (ancient temples: Angkor Wat, Bayon, Banteay Srey……..). She is a primary school teacher. Additionally, she fattens up pigs to sell to generate extra income for the family. Approximately, Sithorn earns USD 5 per day.
Due to the difficulty in traveling to school, Sithorn is requesting a loan of USD 700 to purchase a motorbike for commuting to school. This purchase would enable her to go to school on time and to use the money saved on her transportation expense to support the family. In the future, she would like to send her child to a good school.
