A loan helped to purchase a motorbike for carrying fish to sell at the market.

Rum's story

Rum, 38, is married and resides with her husband and four children in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, an area which is well known for its historical tourism sites (ancient temples: Angkor Wat, Bayon, Banteay Srey).

She has been selling fish at the market for over two years, earning approximately USD 4 per day. Her husband is a construction worker who earns approximately USD 4 per day. Her son is also a construction worker and earns approximately USD 3 per day. Due to the difficulty in traveling, Rum is requesting a loan of USD 600 to purchase a motorbike for carrying fish to sell at the market.

In the future, she would like to run a laundry at home to generate extra income for the family. Moreover, she hopes to rebuild her present house and support her children to study until they get a Bachelor degree.
