A loan of $4,500 helped a member to purchase beverages and sweets for sale.

Mujeres Unidas Group's story

This group came together after some advertising that was done in the area. They are in their ninth loan cycle and have worked with the Foundation since the year 2009. They are all friends from the same neighborhood, and joined together because they wish to be able to help their families through the work they are doing as a team. They are recognized in the neighborhood for the bond they share.

One of the group members is Ms. Catalina. She has a "kiosko" (a shop) in her home which is stocked with all kinds of products, such as beverages, sweets, prepared food and other items. Thanks to her small business she has been able to get ahead and help her family cover daily expenses. Her goal is to be able to have a large business and so have more customers.

She is seeking the loan for the purchase of beverages, sweets, and other items, in order to continue offering a good variety to her customers.
