Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $2,225 helped a member to buy limes, dried fish, and palm oil to resell.

Natenkadoume Group's story

The solidarity group was created on March 24, 2001. It comprises fifteen women who live in the same district. Their main work involves small-scale commerce.

Ms. Simone, who is at the right in the photo with her hand raised, is the group's official. She is 48 years old, divorced, and the mother of six children. She is active in selling limes, palm oil, and dried fish. She has good experience in this business domain which she has been working at for several years.

This loan will enable her to bolster her business capital and to develop her business further. The profits will enable her to improve her family's living conditions (health, food, clothing, etc....) and to increase her savings.
