Nona's story

Nona is 40 years old. She lives in a small village in Kartli district, East Georgia. Nona is married and lives with her husband - Tariel, and three sons (14, 13 and 8 years old). The children go to school.

Nona’s husband is a worker who works mainly in construction. Nona is leading the agricultural business for the family. She runs a small dairy farm with 4 milk cows. She produces cheese and sells on average 80 kg of this product in Tbilisi, the capital city of the country. The total average monthly income for the family is 800 Laris.

Nona requested credit to diversify the family agricultural business. She will purchase a pig and start a small pig farm. Nona will sell piglets in the village. Also, a small part of the credit will be used for purchasing hay for the cows.

By starting up a pig farm, the income of the family will increase. Nona will be able to purchase additional household goods to improve her family's living conditions. Also she plans to reinvest part of the profit into further development of the pig farm.
