A loan of $850 helped a member to buy sheep for resale.

Wakeur Nadaty Group's story

The Wakeur Nadaty solidarity group, which belongs to the Banc Villageois in Nimzatt Keur Momar Sarr, was set up on 27th December 2010. It is made up of six women who are related, and their main activity is animal fattening.

The person responsible for the group is Marie, who is 44 years old. She is married and mother to two children as well as having two other dependants. She sells cosmetics and also fattens animals, and has good experience in both these fields. In the photo she is standing on the right and dressed in a salmon pink and grey sari.

Her loan will enable her to buy sheep to raise and, once fattened, she will resell them at the central market of the rural community. Her husband manages all the family's needs so that she can boost her savings and her activity with the profits she makes.
