Kharegne Group's story

The solidarity group Kharagne of the banc villageois Madina Marmiyal was created on July 9, 2011. It comprises fifteen women who are neighbors maintaining good relations. The group members have small-scale businesses. The solidarity group's president, Fatou, is a 54-year-old married woman who has eight children. She has two children to support. Fatou has a small business selling fabrics, fish, and seafood products. In the photo, she is standing at the right and wearing a black scarf. With this loan, Fatou would like to buy some merchandise for her business. With the profits, she adds to her savings in the neighborhood tontine and at Caurie. She supports her husband in managing the family.
