A loan of $375 helped to buy cosmetics.

Sheilah's story

Sheilah, 33 years old, is a hardworking and earnest woman who has a lot of business ideas and dreams of getting ahead. She lives with Percy who works in transport and is the father of their two children Nayeli, 11 years old, and Percy, 8 years old. They live together comfortably in their own howm. Sheilah sells beauty products like nail polish, face cream, perfumes, etc. All of these products are purchased via catalogue in order to be sold from her home to her neighbor and friends, being her regular customers along with those who are referred. She began more than eight years ago using her own funds from her saving, and so far she’s been working on her own. She considers her business to be profitable due to the earnings it provides once she’s run out of all the products she has in stock. She tells us that she decided to start her business since before she sold food and the heat from the kitchen was endangering her health and, seeing the decrease in household income, she wanted to help her partner with the household expenses and to have a job and feel like a productive person. She wants to be able to increase her stock of merchandise and see her business grow. This will be the 5th loan with MFP. She hopes for a small loan in order to be able to meet her objectives. She tells us that she’s happy with the communal bank’s work since they are supporting people with funding their projects. She will invest the requested amount of 1000 nuevos soles into the purchase of beauty products to increase her stock. She’s looking for good prices for her purchases so that she can get better profits.
