A loan of $1,500 helped to purchase supplies for her beauty salon.

Karol Andrea's story

Karol is 21 years old and lives with her husband and children in the community of San Carlos in the province of Alajuela. This rural community offers much potential for development due to its farming activities and its hot climate, which allows for the production of certain fruits such as mangos, melons, and others that grow well in the area. This has spurred the growth of related activities and services in the community, such as raising livestock and opportunities for small businesses. The area is known for its national parks and for its great variety of flora and fauna.

Karol has worked as a stylist for a few months now and has her own beauty salon. She needs her salon to get ahead, since she urgently needs to support her family economically. She has a beautiful baby boy that she has to take care of, which is why she set up the salon in her house.

Karol is asking for ¢750,000.00 (750,000 colones) so she can purchase a chair, a sink for washing hair, chemicals, and other supplies for her business.

Karol is a member of the Empresa de Crédito communal bank of SCSAR S.A. This will be her first loan, and she is very grateful to be offered the opportunity to access credit, since it will allow her to carry out her life projects.
