A loan of $1,125 helped buy fabric, cord and needles in large quantities.

Carlos's story

Carlos, 60, has designed and sewn curtains, blinds, trim and decoration in general, since starting his business 28 years ago. Initially he only took on simple designs, but he gradually became more skilled in decorative art, he added more value to his work. Currently he has clients that include important department stores and has two employees. With the business he gets, he’s been able to expand his location and grow his infrastructure. The quality of his garments has allowed him to maintain a select clientele that usually send him new clients. His goal is to grow his business and position himself in the market and separate his production space from his family space to achieve tranquility. He’s requesting a Kiva loan, his 1st financing through the Maria Santo Domingo Foundation, to buy fabric, cord and needles in large quantities in order to get a discount, as he has orders he’ll be working on. He’ll make his investment a success.
