Deborah's story

Deborah lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married and has three children, all of whom are in school. Deborah has a business selling bananas. She has been in this business for one year, and she works six days out of every week. Deborah sells her products at the market by means of retail. Deborah has requested a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT SACCO, which she will use to buy more bunches of bananas. The main business challenges for Deborah include transportation and seasonality. Her goals for her business are to own a delivery van to facilitate transportation and also to become a wholesaler. Deborah lives in a home that she rents. She has access to electricity and doesn't have access to piped water. Her major monthly expenses include paying school fees and rent.
