This is the second time that the group is requesting financial assistance from ALIDé, in order to increase their level of activity. The facilitator of the group, named Etiennette, is the woman raising her hand in the photo. Etiennette is 54 years old and a widow. She is the mother of 4 children, who all go to school and are all her dependents. Besides her four children, Etiennette has another child in her care. She lives alone with her children and takes care of the various household expenses. In order to provide for her family, she processes cassava and palm nuts and sells them locally in Benin. She buys her products in one of the regions of Benin. In order to meet her customers' needs and to increase her turnover and income, she and the other members of the Linlingnon group, are requesting a second loan from ALIDé. Their first loan was well repaid.

Le groupement LINLINGNON est composé de vingt huit personnes qui exercent ensemble leurs activités de transformation. C'est la deuxième fois que ce groupement sollicite l'aide financier de ALIDé, afin d'élever le niveau de leur activité. La représentante de ce groupement, du nom de Etiennette est celle qui a la main levée sur la photo. Etiennette est âgée de 54 ans et est une veuve. Etiennette est mère de quatre enfants tous scolarisés et à sa charge. En plus de ses quatre enfants, Etiennette a un autre enfant à charge. Etiennette vit seule avec ses enfants. Les diverses charges de la maison sont assurées par Etiennette. Pour y parvenir, Etiennette mène comme activité, la transformation du manioc et des noix de palme qu’elle vend dans sa région au Bénin. Etiennette s’approvisionne dans une région du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et pour accroître son chiffre d’affaire et son revenu, Etiennette sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupement LINLINGNON, un deuxième crédit auprès de ALIDé. Le premier prêt a été bien remboursé.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
