Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $300 helped to purchase charcoal to sell.

Betty's story

Betty lives in Yei. She sells charcoal, and has been in business for two years. She is thirty-two years old, married, and has four children. All of them are still in school.

Betty heard about BRAC South Sudan from a credit officer, and this is her second loan from BRAC. She has requested a loan of 800 SDG in order to purchase charcoal. She will use the extra income she generates from this loan to pay school fees.
