Luciana's story

Luciana was born in the city of Taray in Calca province (in Cusco, Peru), and is 50 years old. She is married, and has six children from this relationship. She currently lives in the city of Pisaq, which is also where she works. She works selling jellies and cakes as a street vendor, going up to the buses that head to the cities of Cusco and Calca. She also has a small grocery store.

Luciana is requesting the loan to purchase supplies; for example flour, milk, eggs, butter, oranges, vanilla and other additional items that she needs for making more cakes.

The members of the “Mosoq Ñusta” communal bank meet monthly in the district of Pisaq in Calca province (in Cusco, Peru). Cusco is known for being an area with much tourism and commerce, for its traditional Inti Raymi festival, and because it is the location of Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the world.
