A loan of $575 helped buy more soda.

Nelly's story

Nelly, 36, is an industrious and hardworking woman. She is also cheerful and friendly. She is separated from the father of her children. She lives comfortably in her own home with her children, ages 10, 3, and 1, and her sister.

Her occupation is selling soft drinks, which she buys at the distributor and sells from her house to passer-bys in the area. She has a freezer that keeps the drinks freezing cold, just the way her customers like it in the hot climate of the area. She has two years of experience in this business and works alone. She likes the business because it allows her to earn an income. She also likes having a job and feeling like a productive person. In addition, she likes being in the comfort of her home where she can take care of her children, who are the source of her motivation. She considers her business to be worthwhile because she can earn an income and because there is a demand for her products, especially on the hottest days. She plans to keep on working at her business. This will be her 4th loan with MFP. She hopes that the collaboration will help her realize her plans. She says that she likes the communal bank because it is a united and caring group.

With the 1500 Nuevos Soles (PEN) requested, Nelly will invest in more sodas of different brands and flavors, giving her a larger supply available for sale. The loan will also help her get lower prices by buying in bulk and paying in a single cash payment.
