A loan of $1,450 helped to purchase spare parts, tires, and accessories for cars.

Liliana Rocío's story

Every two weeks, the San Agustín Communal Bank meets in the beautiful city of Calceta, known for its hardworking people and beautiful women. This is where Liliana lives. She is 42 years old, is separated from her husband, and has three daughters. Two of the daughters are grown and the other is 16, in high school, and is the only one who still lives with Liliana.

With the goal of getting ahead and earning her daily living, Liliana has a shop selling spare parts, tires, and accessories for cars. She rents a place downtown where she lives and has her business. She works every day from 8:00 until 5:00. She buys the parts in Guayaquil and Santo Domingo. She has operated her business for more than 12 years, and thanks to this she has been able to make ends meet on her own with her daughters.

She will use this loan to purchase spare parts, tires and accessories for cars. She has been in the communal bank for five years, and is the group's payment officer. She likes the communal bank because the people are very united and polite. Her dream is to have a place of her own.
