A loan of $1,225 helped to buy basic consumer products, bed sheets and Avon products.

Angela Isabel's story

In the beautiful city of Calceta, the communal bank San Agustin meets every 15 days. This is a city that is known for its hardworking people and beautiful women. Here we meet Angela, 51, who is married and has 5 children. Her children are now adults, but two of them still live with her. Her husband is a merchant. Angela has a store in her house where she sells all types of products, such as: rice, sugar, cooking oil, detergent, vegetables, milk, and meat. In addition, she sells bed sheets and Avon products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes and accessories for women). She sells the Avon products in her store and, when she has time, she also goes out to visit her customers when she has to make collections, because she sells these products on credit. She works every day from 6am until 9pm. She has been doing this work for more than 7 years, and it is going very well; her business is expanding gradually with the help of these loans. She will use this loan to buy basic consumer goods, bed sheets and Avon products. She has been with her communal bank for 8 years, and she likes it because the loans have helped her to grow her business and improve her personal life. Her goals are to continue to make progress with her business, and see her store continue to grow each day.
