Jose Mauricio
José, a humble family man, works as a security guard. His wife is a teacher. Together they have to look out for the future of their children and their current well-being. He has plans to build his house completely of concrete, changing the current construction little by little, and enlarging the area of the rooms so that his children can have their own space and not be all together like they are now. Our client has already moved forward with part of the room construction, but it has presented difficulties for him, so he could not continue on his own account. In financing, he has found the necessary support to complete his project. He will use the loan to purchase construction materials: cement, sand, iron, gravel, blocks, supports, purlins, zinc roofing sheets, planks, rebar tie wire, and quarry stone, among other materials, to build the walls and put a roof on the house. He is thankful for the opportunity to build his room and obtain greater security and comfort.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
