A loan of $1,100 helped to buy clothes, slippers, purses, creams, perfume and cosmetics.

Viviana Guadalupe's story

The San Pedro communal bank meets every two weeks in the neighborhood of the same name in the city of Manta, a city known for its beautiful beaches which are visited frequently all year round and for being a city with unequaled beauty and many tourist attractions.

Here we meet Viviana. She is 31 years old, married, and has three children aged 10, 3 and 1 years old. The oldest is in school. Her husband is a fisherman.

She is a housewife who to get her own resources and to help her husband with household expenses sells clothes, purses, shoes and Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfume and women's accessories). She goes out every day for three hours, sells her products on credit and collects every week. She buys her products at a distributor in Portoviejo every time she needs merchandise. She has been doing this activity for more than 7 years and always sell products or items of clothing that are in style since those are the most popular.

This loan is to buy clothes, slippers, purses, perfumes, creams and cosmetics. She has been in the communal bank for 7 years and she likes it for the help that the bank gives her and her friends.

Her dream is to have her own locale.
