Wilma Colombia's story

Every two weeks the 'San Pedro' community bank meet in the neighborhood of the same name, in the city of Manta. This city is well known for its beautiful beaches which are very popular year round. It is a city which has a lot of tourist attractions and a beauty which is second to none. Here we meet Wilma. Wilma is 42 years old. She has been married for several years but has not been able to have children. Her husband is a driver. Wilma is a housewife who, in order to make her own income and help her husband with the household expenses, sells clothing and Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfume and ladies' accessories). She goes out to sell her products three days a week, though she also sells from her home whenever her customers want to buy something. She leaves her products with her customers on credit and collects payment every week. She has been in this business for more than twelve years and she also sews clothing as she learned dressmaking some years ago. Wilma will use this loan to buy perfume, creams, cosmetics and clothing. She has been a member of her community bank for 17 years and she likes it because of the benefits provided by the bank. Wilma's dreams are to make progress in her business and in her life.
