Marcelina's story

'Unassuming' and 'hard-working' are words that describe 58-year-old Marcelina who worked hard to buy her own home where she lives together with her husband, 66-year-old Obdulio. Marcelina's business is selling clothing from her stall where her customers come to see what she has brought back from the city of Lima. Marcelina has been in this business for more than 28 years and she knows how to attract customers. She enjoys her work and wouldn't stop doing it for anything. However, right now her business has almost no stock and she is starting to worry that she will have nothing to offer the people who visit her stall. For this reason, she has come to MFP's offices to request a loan that she will use to travel to the city and stock up with merchandise (clothing).

This will be Marcelina's ninth loan from MFP and she pledges to continue making her repayments on time. She is a cheerful and cooperative member of her community bank. Marcelina will use her 3,000 soles to buy more clothing in the city of Lima.
