A loan of $3,700 helped a member to buy phone booths.

Aguilas De Corazon Group's story

The communal bank “Aguilas de Corazon” (Heart Eagles) will begin its tenth loan cycle with Pro Mujer. As part of the focal point of the Andes, it is made up of eight members, and it is directed by a board headed by Mery. The businesses that the members of the communal bank run are varied between them. There are: cell phone sales, carpentry, food sales, clothing sales, shoe sales.

Mery says that she has been working with Pro Mujer for ten loan cycles and that she joined the institutions through the invitation of a neighbor. Now she has a cell phone business which she’s been running for years and had learned from friends.

The loan which she will get is to increase her capital (buy telephone booths) that she will acquire from Chile in bulk and later sell in her sales stall. This form of work allows her to generate income to support her family since she is single and has a son.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she answer that she likes the health program.

In this group: Mery , America Carla, Wara Jhoselin , Sonia , Celia , Julia , Teodora, Nena
