A loan of $4,675 helped a member to buy natural remedies for the next sale.

Serenidad Group's story

The "Serenidad" Women's Communal Bank was formed in 2009 thanks to Mrs. Maria. She was previously part of another group; when she left, she decided to contact the adviser and form her own group with her friends and neighbours. She was able to join together fifteen women who are very happy and united working together. They are now in their eleventh cycle in the program.
Maria sells natural remedies; she sells all kinds of medicinal herbs. She tells us that this is a very exhausting and difficult job, but she likes it anyway because it is good, honest work.
She is requesting this loan for the purchase of natural remedies, such as mint, burrito leaf, and camomile. The group is grateful for the opportunity that the Foundation and Kiva are offering them.
