A loan of $1,450 helped to buy meat, charcoal, pork rinds, and other ingredients.

María Isabel's story

The Communal Bank "Leónidas Proaño" meets every 15 days in the neighborhood of the same name in the city of Manta. This city is known for its beautiful beaches that are frequented throughout the year. It is also a city of unequaled beauty that has many tourist attractions.

It is in this place where Sra. María lives. She is 42 years old, in a common-law relationship, and has five children (ages 22, 17, 14, 12, and 10) who attend the university, high school, or elementary school. Her husband is a merchant.

María and her husband have a business selling pork rinds and roasted meats from a small shop in the central part of the city. There are many people who pass through this place, so their sales have always been good. They work every day from 1pm to 6pm. María has been in this business for 17 years and it has helped to move her children and her family forward.

This loan will be used to buy meat, charcoal, pork rinds, and other necessary ingredients for preparing her dishes. She has been with her Communal Bank for five loan cycles and enjoys being a member because the loans have been a great help to her business. Her goal is to have a successful shop.
