A loan of $1,000 helped to sow potatoes and to harvest rice.

Carmen Luz's story

Carmen is 33 years old and single. She doesn't have children yet but in time she wishes to start a family. She's a farmer who owns a plot of land located in the community of El Playón. She's a new client of the institution. Carmen requests this loan in order to purchase seeds for sowing potatoes and to pay for the costs of harvesting rice. This business is her only means of living and getting ahead, since she faces challenges in her business, such as lifting herself out of poverty. Once her crop is harvested, she will sell it directly from farmer to consumer at the local market. Carmen is happy and thankful for the opportunity she is given.
