A loan of $1,100 helped to buy spare parts.

Juvencio Misael's story

Leónidas Proaño Communal Bank meets every two weeks in the neighborhood of the same name in the city of Manta, known for its pretty beaches that are visited frequently in every season of the year and for being a city of unequaled beauty with many tourist attractions.

Juvencio lives here. He is 49 years old and married, and from this relationship has two children. One is independent and the younger one is 17 and studies in the university, and he is the one who still lives with them. His wife is a housewife.

To support his family he works driving his own taxi. Every day he goes out to drive around the entire city providing freight service that at the same time allows him to earn a living. He works every day from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. He works only until that time to avoid the robberies and risks of his profession. He has worked in this profession for more than 24 years; he thanks God it always has gone well for him.

He is requesting the loan to buy certain spare parts for his taxi, and so give his customers better service. This is his second cycle in the communal bank and he likes it because of how they work in the institution.

His dream is to have another taxi to have better income.
