A loan of $750 helped to buy clothing to add to her business.

Celia's story

Celia is the single mother of two children who are minors. She is 45 and has her own house. The settlement where she lives is small; approximately 40 families who make their living farming and raising livestock. The settlement where she lives is called Las Pampas, which is part of the Olmos district, two hours from the city of Chiclayo. Thanks to the efforts of its inhabitants, her settlement has already managed to build its own school and chapel. For now, they are lacking potable water service, since they only have electricity service. Celia sells articles of clothing and has been doing this work for approximately five years. She has her regular customers who visit her at her home to place orders. In addition, and to supplement this, she sells beauty products to the same customers, for which she goes from settlement to settlement to offer her various products. Celia is applying for to Edpyme Alternativa for a loan in the amount of 2,000 nuevos soles, which she will use to buy more articles of clothing. These will be sent by a family member from the city of Lima, as she believes that she still has a market to capture. She has resolved to improve her business, with the aim of generating greater income, in order to give her children a better quality of life.
