Bokk Jom Ak Jam Group's story

The solidarity group Bokk Jom Ak Jam has existed since July 9th, 2011. It is composed of 15 women who live in the same district, are all small retailers and part of the same "Groupement de Promotion Féminin" (a group for the promotion of women).

The group's leader is Pourméra. She is 34 years old, single and the mother of 3 children. She is also responsible for 2 more children (her nephew and niece). She is an experienced trader who has been selling perfumes, beauty creams and "thiouraye" incense for over 10 years. She is standing at the front of the picture, wearing the dress with a dropped waist and holding up her left hand.

Pourméra will use her part of the loan to restock on products for resale in the hopes of generating a lot of revenue. She would like to use her expected profits to strengthen her business, build up her savings and support her family with the daily expenses.

In this group: Pourmera, Khady, Mame Amsata, Ndeye Coumba, Nafissatou, Ndeye Ndiatte, Salimata, Ndeye Fatou, Marieme, Fatou Kine*, Marieme*, Maguette, Arame , Ndeye Adama, Aïssatou*
