Halima lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is widowed with four children, and only two of her children go to school. She takes care of additional family members (grandchildren). She operates a beauty salon on a retail basis. She sells her products in a shop that she rents. She works seven days a week. She has been in this business for the last four years. She also has rental houses where she gets additional income.
She has requested a loan of 700,000 UGX from MCDT SACCO to buy hair treatments, braids and weaves. Her major business challenges are defaulters and seasonality. Her goals and aspirations are to own a bridal salon. She lives in her own house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees and medication.
