Blanca Luz

A loan of $1,050 helped to buy stone and sawdust in order to produce lime powder.

Blanca Luz's story

Blanca Luz, age 38, is single because she was widowed. She has three children, ages 19, 24, and 25. Two of her children are married. She lives with her youngest child in the village of Carrizal in Taulabe.

For approximately 25 years she has been making lime powder. This product is used in construction, and it is also used in home to cook corn. Her process is to buy the rock and sawdust, burn it, and take out the lime powder.

This business is profitable, and there is a great demand in the summer.

The loan she is requesting from ODEF is to buy raw materials like stone and sawdust in order to make the lime powder to sell. She will use her earnings to support her children when they are in need.
