A loan of $600 helped to buy and sell foodstuffs.

Rita's story

A married mother of four children, Ms. Rita A.’s business consists of roadside sales of foodstuffs. Determined in all that she does, she contributes a large amount of the household income because the money her husband, a motorcycle taxi driver, earns is largely insufficient to feed, clothe, educate and take care of their children. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, Ms. A. dedicates all of her energy to serving her family. She is a tireless woman who works day and night to pull her family out of poverty. To increase her income, she would like to further build her business in order to be able to meet the growing demand for her products.

For this, she is requesting a loan of $600, which will allow her to increase the range of products that she sells. The amount requested will thus serve as the capital to buy and resell her goods. This project deserves to be supported, as it will allow a very poor family to improve its living conditions.

Translated from French by Kristina Jackson, Kiva Volunteer.
