Aurore Plus Group's story

Jean joined one of Hope’s groups (a DRCongo Microfinance program) named “Aurore Plus” in September 2008 and he is the chairman of that group, which consists of 28 members. Thanks to Hope’s loans, the group members’ businesses have prospered.

Jean is 42 years old, married, and the father of four children aged between 3 and 14. He has been active in his business since 2005. He runs a sewing workshop to the west of Kinshasa. Jean is dedicated to his business, which generates a profit of $160 per month. His business is the only resource of income he has to support his family. Jean has already received and successfully repaid nine loans. He is planning with the coming loan to purchase two rolls of good-quality fabric that are needed by his clients in order to generate more profit. His ambition is to open a larger sewing workshop in his environment.
