A loan of $375 helped to hire laborers.

Lidia's story

41-year-old Lidia is married to 46-year-old Roberto and has three children. They live together in their own home, in Llochegua district.

Lidia's business is growing coffee. She has been doing this for more than 20 years. She learned how to do this work from her parents as they come from a family who have traditionally carried out this business activity. Lidia frequently works with the support of her husband and some laborers whose help she needs during harvest seasons and when she needs maintenance work carried out on her plot of farmland. Lidia is happy with the work that she does because it makes her good income. She would like to open a grocery store but she faces a problem in that her house is still not suitable for setting up a store. First she will have to finish some building work.

This is Lidia's first loan from MFP and she pledges to make her repayments on time. She will use her 1,000 soles to maintain her coffee crops. She will hire laborers to do this.
