A loan of $675 helped buy medicine and food for animals.

Angela Liliana's story

The Communal Bank Esfuerzo and Poder meets every two weeks in the canton of Olmedo which is in the province of Manabí. This place is known for its beautiful countryside and for the people working in agriculture and breeding animals.

Angela lives in this place. She is 42 years old and has a common-law relationship from which she has 5 children of 20, 18, 16, 14 and 11 years old. The younger ones are school students. Her husband is a farmer.

She is a very good housewife who also works raising chickens and pigs, for which she has a small farm at home. She buys these little animals when they are tiny and later at a certain time when they are ready the merchants come to her house to buy her animals. Also she sells them to her neighbors in the area. She has more than 15 years working in this activity and it is going well and she has earnings without leaving her home.

This loan is in order to buy food and medicine for the small animals. She has had two loan cycles with the communal bank and she likes it because the loans are granted rapidly and without so many requirements.

Her dream is to provide the best for her children.
