Deisy Victoria's story

Deisy lives in Ica, Perú. Ica is a city located in the Sechura Desert, about four hours south of Lima, the country's capital, and Peruvians acclaim it as "La Tierra del Sol" (The Land of the Sun). It is known in Peru for its frequent earthquakes (an 8.0 magnitude quake in 2007 and a 6.9 quake in 2011); for its grape, asparagus and olive production; and perhaps more than anything for being the source of Peru's traditional national drink, Pisco.

The customer's home and business can be found in this hot, dry climate. In her free time, Daisy really enjoys cooking; as many know, Peru has the most delicious food in the world. One of the dishes Deisy really likes is the very rich “arroz con pollo” (chicken with rice), and it tastes delicious when she makes it. She loves to cook, and that is why she would have liked to study culinary arts.

Deisy sells legumes at the market. She works around eight hours per day and may serve up to 30 customers per day. She believes that her business is doing well because she offers quality products and good service to her customers.

Deisy is very grateful to Kiva's lenders because your support has made her able to buy more merchandise, so she can have a larger variety of products. Her customers will then be satisfied with the products she offers, and she will keep striving every day to make her greatest dream come true: to have her own house.
