A loan of $400 helped to buy discount products to meet her customers' demands, such as gift items, decorative boxes, sweets and plastic products.

Johanna's story

Johanna, 28, lives with her husband and 3 children, ages 1 to 6 years old. She is a product consultant on items such as household articles, sweets, accessories and decorations. When she started this business she did so with the goal of helping her husband with household expenses and this is just what has happened. In addition to excelling as a woman, she has increased her household’s income and quality of life with her business.

Johanna’s goal in the future is to own her home and increase her income, however to the extent that her customers have increased, her own working capital is insufficient to move forward. When she buys products to promote, her earnings are very good and her customers are satisfied because she sells the merchandise at good prices.

Currently Johanna is applying for a loan, her first with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. She will use it to buy articles on discount to meet the demands of her customers. These include gift items, decorative boxes, sweets and plastic products. Her sales will increase because her customers have requested that she sell these items. Consequently, while Johanna earns money with her sales, her customers will be satisfied with their purchases.
