A loan of $1,200 helped to buy tires.

Gumercindo's story

Gumercindo is 61 years old and has been married to Fructuosa for more than 35 years. They have 3 dependent children who are in college, one of whom is disabled and requires from his mother daily care. The family lives in the Colomi zone at km 48 on the highway from Cochabamba to Santa Cruz.
He has been transporting heavy freight for some time now and his wife sells potatoes. They are both farmers. They raise agricultural products on land he inherited from his father in the community of Chullpani Chico. In this way, they support their children and send them to get a good education. Gumercindo at the moment is not working because he needs money to buy new tires for his truck. This is why they have come to our offices of Cidre to ask for a loan. He tells us that sometimes the savings that he has is not enough to support the household expenses. Other financial institutions would not lend him money because of his age.
Finally Gumercindo and his wife feel happy. They will buy the tires and they will begin to travel as soon as possible. Their dream is to have their children be professionals and have a better future than what they have had.
