A loan of $1,000 helped to get working capital for her used clothing business.

Maria Isabel's story

María Isabel is 31, single, and has no children in her care. She has a business selling used clothing, from which she receives the income to support her father and mother, who are seniors. This is because they live together, and her siblings are not in Bolivia; so she has all the responsibility for supporting them. It can be seen that this woman is a very self-sacrificing person who devotes all her efforts to collecting from people who can sell her clothing that they are not using, or that they want to dispose of. She walks around so that she can get it at a lower price, and also buys from another city, three hours from Cochabamba. There they sell by the bale, and the bundles are very bulky and heavy. As all these details could be verified, when she applied for a loan from our institution, Cidre agreed to grant her the loan without any problem, in order to support her in increasing her working capital so that she can increase her income.
