Teopista lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with five children, four of whom go to school. She takes care of two additional family members (mother and sister). She sells sweet bananas at the market on a retail basis. She also gets additional income from working as a sweeper with the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) . She works seven days a week, and she has been in this business for the last 7 years. She has requested a loan of 900,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy bunches of sweet bananas. Her major business challenges are thieves and seasonality. Her goals and aspirations are to buy a plot of land and build a house and also to start going to villages for sweet bananas. She lives in a rented house, and the family has access to electricity but does not have access to piped water. Her major monthly expenses include food and rent.
