A loan of $4,350 helped a member to buy fabric and thread.

Las Tejedoras Group's story

The ladies who belong to "Las Tejedoras" community bank are very hard-working people. They are very grateful to Fundación Paraguaya because, thanks to the terms of their loans, they are able to access them and thus are able to invest in their existing businesses or start a new business. The president of this group, Norma, lives with her husband and children. Her business is making handicrafts from ñanduti (Paraguayan lace). She also sells clothes. Together with her fellow group members, she carries out constant activities in order to promote good team spirit and try to bring forward their repayments. Norma describes herself as a very hard-working and tenacious person and she tells us that she always works as hard as she can so that she is able to help her husband with their household expenses and provide for their children. Norma is requesting this loan to buy fabric and threads so that she can continue making her embroidered products. She is grateful to Fundación Paraguaya and Kiva for the opportunity that they are providing.
