A loan of $450 helped to buy materials to do up some rooms.

Marilu's story

42-year-old Marilú is a hard-working and determined woman who has a great desire to do well in life. She lives with Javier who works as a civil engineer. He is also the father of her three children who are 18, 15 and 4 years old. They live together in their own home which they worked hard to buy.

Marilú's business is renting out rooms to couples and single people. She has five occupied rooms. Her house is very big and she started this business at her husband's suggestion. She has been in this business for more than 10 years and, up to now, she has had the support of her husband who helps her to acquire new tenants. She likes what she does because it makes her income, makes her feel like a productive person and enables her to support her husband with the household expenses. She considers her business to be profitable because of the demand she has and the fact that all of her rooms are occupied. For this reason, she plans to do up more rooms and turn her home into a boarding house.

This will be Marilú's third loan from MFP. She is happy to know that she will have financial support as it will make her feel secure in making progress in her business. She will invest the 1,200 soles she has requested in buying materials with which to do up her rooms and in building at least two more rooms to put up for rent.
