A loan of $575 helped to buy clothing for women, men and children.

Eileen's story

Eileen, 22, is a hardworking and dedicated woman who has a strong desire to make progress in her life. She is married to Fernando, who is employed and is the father of her 1 year-old daughter. They live together with her husband's parents in his parents' home. Eileen has a business selling clothing for women, men and children. All of these products are bought and sent to her by her cousin, who lives in the city of Lima. She sells them to her relatives, friends and neighbors, to whom she provides friendly and cordial service so that they will prefer her business. In this way, they will recommend her to other people, who over time will also become her regular customers. Eileen has been doing this work for more than 2 years, and up until now she has had the support of her mother, who helps her to get more customers. Eileen enjoys her business, since it generates a good income for her. Furthermore, she has plans to venture into another business selling spare parts for motorcycles. This will be her 5th loan with the MFP institution. She is very content to know that she will have financial support, because in this way she feels more certain that she will be able to make progress with her business. In addition, she feels very comfortable with her communal bank, as she considers it to be a very supportive and united group. With the sum of 1,500 Peruvian soles requested, she will invest in her business by purchasing more merchandise in the form of clothing for men, women and children, and sandals.
