A loan of $375 helped to have maintenance work carried out on her computers and to buy video games.

Guisela's story

33-year-old Guisela is a single mother. She has two children who are 9 and 2 years old. She and her children live in her relatives' house in Tarma district. Guisela is a cheerful and positive young woman. Ten years ago she started doing temp work. Thanks to her persistence, she managed to acquire some computers which she now uses to provide an Internet service. She mainly serves the students who live in her neighborhood and she says that her business is doing well.

"I have five machines which I rent out for 1 sol an hour", she says. In addition, Guisela also sells movie and music DVDs from the same premises. This makes extra income for her family.

One of the worries that Guisela has is that her computers need maintenance work carrying out on them in order to optimize their performance. She hopes to acquire more machines and to increase her services by installing a 'locutorio' (a public telephone exchange) so that people can make calls to different places. She will continue working to achieve this.

This will be Guisela's 13th loan from MFP thanks to your help. She gives her word that she will be punctual in making her repayments as she has been in the past. She belongs to the 'GS-006' community bank and enjoys the work that they carry out to foster team spirit. Guisela will use her money to pay to have her machines serviced. She will also buy new video discs to sell in her business.
