A loan of $375 helped buy organic fertilizer for her potato crops.

Angelica's story

Angelica, 46 years old, lives with Daniel, with whom she has 2 children, ages 16 and 14. They reside together in their own house in the community of San Juan, district of Huasahuasi, province of Tarma. Angelica works arduously in her parcels of land. She is a farming woman who sees in the countryside an opportunity to get ahead with her family. Since the age of 18, she has labored, cultivating land, principally with potatoes of distinct varieties.

Angelica has 3 lots, or parcels, of agricultural land which produce green peas 2 times a year and potatoes once a year. “The potato sown most often is Perricholi. At each harvest I get 25 sacks per parcel, but at various times I have sown all 3 (parcels) at the same time,” she commented. Angelica is content with her results because everything she obtains results from her efforts and dedication. Now she wants to acquire a small used automobile that will serve to make her more mobile.

This will be her 5th loan received through MFP, thanks to its help. She promises to be punctual in making her monthly payments. Angelica belongs to the “Siempre Juntos” (Always Together) communal bank and she is satisfied with her achievements. She will invest the loan in sacks of organic fertilizer for her potato crops which she plans to harvest in May.
