A loan of $1,975 helped to buy coffee seedlings.

Elizabeth De La Trinidad's story

Elizabeth is a 52 year-old woman who lives with her family in a community in Southern Costa Rica, located in Concepción de Pilas, Puntarenas province. The local economy is based on agricultural outputs, particularly tubers, coffee, corn, beans, and cattle.

Elizabeth has been growing coffee for a few months now. Coffee has long been a major crop in Costa Rica, making it one of the largest global exporters. Elizabeth needs to increase her income so that she can improve her family's quality of life and give her children the opportunity to receive a good education.

Elizabeth is requesting a loan of ₡1,000,000.00 (one million colones) to buy coffee seedlings, in order to help her achieve her goal: to increase her production of coffee, which is known as the "Golden Grain" in her country.

Elizabeth is a member of the Community Credit Company in La Danta, which is one of EDESA's 150 member organizations in Costa Rica. This will be her first loan and she hopes it will help her to continue growing on a personal and economic level. She also hopes to be an active participant in her community's credit organization.
