A loan of $1,425 helped to buy iron, aluminum, copper and sheets of plastic.

Antonio's story

Antonio is 50 years old and has a recycling business in the municipality of Soledad. He started the business 7 years ago when he bought iron, aluminum, bronze, plastic and copper and made good profits by recycling them. For his business he has been able to buy his own vehicle to transport the materials, which allows him to do his work more effectively. The business has grown gradually, with the support of the 4 loans he has taken out through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, which he used to buy his vehicle and a cart to haul the material. He sells the recyclable material for cash in a wholesale warehouse that is in the city of Barranquilla. His suppliers are collectors of recyclable materials in the city streets. His goal is to continue growing the business, to be able to buy in larger quantities and with the opportunities that exist in the market, be able to finally have his own storefront. He is currently requesting a loan to be used to buy iron, aluminum, copper and sheets of plastic. He wants to take advantage of this opportunity and achieve in the future his greatest challenge which is to open up a branch of his business.
