A loan of $850 helped to buy seafood to sell.

Israel Moises's story

Israel is a 29 year-old man who lives together with his wife Jésica and 3 children in the municipality "Santa Martha" of Santo Domingo that is the canton and city of the new Provincia de Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, which is the rural municipality of Quito (the capital of Ecuador). It is considered a hub between important cities of the country. It is the area of the most rainfall in the country and therefore has a great abundance of water.

Israel works selling seafood; he begins his work day very early in the morning and ends mid-afternoon. He works with a friend, from whom he learned this craft 13 years ago.

He wants to invest in buying a good quantity of seafood and take advantage of the price of this season. This way, he will be able to generate higher income. It is his second loan with Fundación Alternativa, which is the institution that will broker between the lenders of Kiva at a worldwide level and Israel. In his first loan, he obtained training from this institution. He tells us that he enjoys the attention provided by his business official.

He hope that with this investment he is able to improve his quality of life. He wants to have his business in an independent manner and grow in order to offer his family economic stability.
