A loan of $875 helped to purchase fertilizers for his lime and mango plantations.

Santos Manuel's story

Santos is 53 years old, and lives with his wife and two children. The home where they currently live is located in the CP-2 Cólera village, in the district of Tambogrande. This district is part of the Piura province, which is located about 3 hours away from the city of Chiclayo. Santos lives in the rural part of this district; it is progressing somewhat, but for now they they only have basic electrical service.

Santos lives in a distinctly farming and livestock area, which is not foreign to him as this is his principal economic activity. Santos has 4.37 hectares of farmland where he grows good quality limes and mangoes for export. He has spent much of his life working in this activity, as he inherited his farmland from his parents. As an additional activity, his wife helps meet the family's basic needs by raising and selling farmyard animals. The good relationship that they have between themselves as family has been generated by always maintaining unity in in their businesses and life-projects.

Santos, on seeing his harvest of products for export, has clear objectives which are fixed: to greatly improve the quality of his products to reach better markets. This is why he is requesting a loan from Edpyme Alternativa for the sum of 2,300 new soles for the purchase of fertilizers and manure for his plantations.

Santos and his family are people who are very respected and valued for everything that they have done to help out their neighbors in the village where they live.
