Temur's story

Temur is 33 years old and is a shepherd from the village of Jughaani in East Georgia. He lives with his family- his wife Mzia, their two sons (two and four years old), his mother, and his grandmother. Temur is the only income provider in the family. Mzia is a housewife. His mother has health problems and gets a pension from the government. The total average monthly income of the family is 470 Laris (Temur’s salary and his mother and grandmother’s pensions). According to Credo estimations, Temur’s family belongs to the "vulnerable poor" category. Temur decided to start up an agricultural business. He requested credit from Kiva for purchasing calves. He will grow calves and sell them in the summer for a higher price. It will give additional income to the family, and they will be able to improve their living conditions.
