A loan of $575 helped to buy building supplies to improve her home.

Lucrecia's story

Lucrecia is a 35-year-old mother who lives in her own home together with her husband and five dependent children. They live in a rural village called 'Paredones Alto' which is located some 10 minutes from Morrope district, in Lambayeque province. The people in this area mainly farm, raise livestock and make handicrafts. They live in developing, rural villages which do not receive basic services.

Lucrecia spends every day raising farmyard birds, especially turkeys, which she later sells. She has a large number of birds which she has worked hard to raise and fatten. She has spaces on her property where she raises her animals. Lucrecia works together with her husband and children, undertaking new family projects together. They work every day to achieve their goals and thereby improve their living conditions. Her husband works every other day in a mill in the village which gives the family extra help.

Lucrecia's home is in a bad state of repair owing to the constant rains and, for this reason, she has decided to request a loan for 1,500 soles from Edpyme Alternativa to buy building supplies which she will use to repair the worn parts and thereby maintain her family's good health.

Lucrecia, her husband and children are all hard-working, kind people who are very well respected by their neighbors. They have earned this respect through their hard work and commitment to their work.
